Scroll through all of the photos on Elizabeth Hurley’s Instagram and you’ll immediately wonder what she does to keep her skin looking so d*mn good. Not only does the 56-year-old British actress and model look half her age, but her skin glows, shimmers, radiates, [insert sparkling skin adjective here]. But what exactly *are* Elizabeth Hurley’s skincare secrets? Yeah, we want to know, too.

And so does Andy Cohen. During a 2019 episode of Watch What Happens Live, the host jokingly said to Elizabeth: “You don’t [get zits], do you?” Elizabeth giggled—come on, Liz, spill the deets—and then went into a bit of what she *does* do to keep her skin looking so fine, including the one product she’s been using twice a day, every day. Like, a lot, a lot. In fact, Elizabeth told the UK-publication Woman & Home in 2018 she moisturizes 10 times a day, which, may or may not be overkill.

“The one thing I swear by is moisturizer—and lots of it,” she said. “I’ll moisturize my face about six times a day and my neck about 10 times a day. Lightly dab it over your face, and it instantly makes you glow.”

Derms agree that it’s probably excessive (twice a day is standard), but it’s difficult to argue with results, amirite?

She swears by *this* product.

No matter that the British-born actress has been an Estée Lauder spokesmodel since 1995, Elizabeth says there’s one company product she can’t live without—the Advanced Night Repair Serum.

“I think I’ve been lucky because I’ve been with the company for 24 years so I’ve had really good products at my fingertips — and I use a lot of them,” Elizabeth told Yahoo Lifestyle. “My most favorite product of all has always been Advanced Night Repair which is a serum that I was given my first bottle of when I first joined the company in 1995, and I’ve used it religiously twice a day ever since.”

She’s not alone—the serum has long received top ranking on best-of beauty lists, even earning a spot on Live Tinted CEO and founder Deepica Mutyala’s shelf.

She doesn’t keep processed food in her home.

“I like simple, natural, easy food. I don’t really like food with a lot of chemicals or additives,” Elizabeth told The Cut. “When I’m at home in the country, I always try and eat food that’s grown locally. That goes for meats and vegetables.”

When it comes to skincare, this approach to food wins points with dermatologists. Jeanette Jacknin, MD, a San Diego–based dermatologist, told Women’s Health in 2020 that dairy, sweets, fried food, soda, alcohol, and anything else you’d consider junk can cause skin issues. “A Mediterranean or whole foods-based diet, with a lot of fresh vegetables and fish like salmon, is ideal,” she noted. “Several studies show low-glycemic-load diets improve acne.”

She keeps a tight sleep schedule.

Not only does the Austin Powers actress make sure to get enough sleep in order to keep her skin in check, but she told Today she counts it as part of how she achieves an overall balanced lifestyle.

“I’ve learned how to rest when I need to rest. I understand that I need to do a bit of exercise. I understand about eating healthily. I’ve understood about not smoking. I’ve understood about limiting alcohol intake,” she says.

She stays hydrated.

While topical cleansers and treatments are certainly important to overall skin health, derms agree on one top healthy skin measure that has nothing to do with products at all—water. And Elizabeth has that one covered, too. She told the Daily Mail UK she starts each day with two mugs of warm water, a measure Abby Langer, RD (who has never worked with Elizabeth), told Women’s Health was a fantastic way “to get a head-start on hydrating yourself.”

Elizabeth also keeps a water bottle in her bag or on her bedside table at all times, as a way to stay on top of her hydration (and killer skin).

She maintains a solid mindset.

Self-care, balanced life—call it what you want, Elizabeth swears her state of mind contributes to her overall radiance.

“You have to try to stay positive,” she told Today. “We all get terrible knocks in life, all of us … Sometimes I think to glow, you have to let go of a lot of stuff and move on. Be as nice as you can to everyone.”
